Surgical Mission to El Salvador

Hello everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to visit our page. My name is Omar Rokayak and gracing the photo with me is my fiancee Nadine Russo. We currently live on the East End of Long Island, NY where I am a 5th year General Surgery Resident and Nadine a Critical Care Registered Nurse.
We are extremely excited to have been given the opportunity to partake in this year's Medical/Surgical Mission to El Salvador. There, we will be volunteering alongside some of our colleagues from LI to provide the beautiful people of El Salvador with free medical education, evaluation, perioperative care, and surgical interventions from January 13th-20th, 2018.
Towards this, we hope to raise some money to help with travel, lodging, educational materials, and toys to bring down with us. Your help in whatever capacity would be much appreciated!
Last year's trip was a tremendous success with over 65 free operations preformed in 1 week and enumerable smiles brought about through the compassionate care and education provided by the team. With your help, we hope to match this success and build on it if we can.
Some of the operations we plan on performing this year include hernia repairs of various kinds and complexity levels, mass excisions, and new this year, we hope to also gather enough resources for elective laparoscopic operations such as gall bladder removals.
