We here at OMDe, promote work featuring Jedi Masters, superheroes, Disney Princesses and more -- But our biggest heroes are the volunteers who support School on Wheels, a fantastic organization that provides tutoring and mentoring opportunities for homeless children across Southern California.
OMDe is partnering with Snap Inc. for this wonderful charity bowling event. So, be a hero and help us reach our goal of $2,500 to help continue our work with these fantastic students and make sure the School on Wheels program continues to receive strong funding.
**School on Wheels is a 501c3 and all donations are tax deductible**
School on Wheels’ mission is to reduce the gaps in the education of homeless children from kindergarten through grade 12. SOW provides each homeless student in the program with a volunteer tutor who meets with them every week to help them with their education. The mentorship and guidance these tutors provide gives these kids support and hope at their most sensitive and difficult time -- education can give these young people the tools they need to escape the cycle of poverty and hopelessness, and can give them the self-worth they need to realize their potential. Most of OMDe employees tutor and we try to support the organization in several ways.
The statistics on homeless children are staggering - one in every 30 American children will go to sleep tonight without a home. With over 163,000 children homeless in the school districts served by School on Wheels in Southern California, it is more important than ever to help their mission.
