North Frontenac Telescope Building

The Township of North Frontenac Dark Sky Preserve is spearheading a major fundraising effort to build a facility to house a donated telescope.

On August 3, 2013 the Township of North Frontenac became the first Municipality in Canada to receive Dark Sky Preserve status from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada.  The observation pad is one of the best places for stargazing in the Province.

The Municipality has received a donation of a telescope (valued at $10,000 ) and we plan to build a building to house this telescope with the funds raised.   Your donation is important to this project.

Any donation over $100 will be publicly recognized by adding the donors name on a plaque that will be located at the Dark Sky Preserve Building.

A tax receipt will be issued for donations of $25 and greater. 

We kindly request that donations above $500 be made by cheque payable to the Township of North Frontenac.
