Scott & Tina, Brain Cancer & Fertility Support

Donation protected

Hello all,

I never imagined I would be setting up a fundraiser or opening up my hands and asking others for financial assistance. I guess I never really thought we would be in a dire position like this at all. I will preface by saying please do not feel obligated to give to our need. We have firm faith that Christ will provide only and exactly what we truly need.

I, Scott Suchecki have stage 3 brain cancer. A tumor was discovered this past June, I had brain surgery, and 10 days later, the biopsy would reveal the nature of the tumor. We have battled it aggressively, going through 6 weeks of radiation and chemo therapy. I am currently in a period of recovery, allowing my weakened immune system to heal.

On November 10th I will start round 2 of chemo. The chemo is going to be two and a half times more potent than what I took before. The bright side is, I will only have to administer that 5 days a month, for the next 6 months.

Because of my cancer, the treatments, and their many side affects, I have been unable to work but a few weeks since June. I have had few medical expenses for the cancer treatment and surgery because of support from the VA. However, the inability to work, has had a major impact on our finances.

Tina has also had quite the health journey. We have been struggling with infertility for over two years. As we eagerly approached her ability to conceive, we found out that the chemo, would render me infertile. We have reached the furthest point in what we can do medically and the prices are steep. The largest of our financial burdens thus far has been in working with the Fertility Clinic. The VA and our private insurance do not cover the majority of those expenses.

I don't want anybody to think we are complaining. We are not. We are grateful and blessed for what we have and the community that has been so supportive of us. The amount we have as our goal would not give us any excess, but help us immensely to stay out of high interest debt.  In addition to the major "bill growing events", we need braces, and extensive vehicle repairs.

A Stage 3 Astrocytoma does not have a good or long prognosis, although I wont get into that, because I don't think my story is going to be so short. I intend to get back to work as soon as my body is physically capable.

The link provided will tell in greater detail what we are going through, via Tina's blog, which she updates as new steps are taken on our journey. Please, for those  of you who believe, pray for us.
