No Drink January for THE KIDS!

It's that time of year again! NO DRINK JANUARY! What is No Drink January? Well, a few years ago a few buddies and I decided that our bodies could use a reboot. So we vowed to not take a single sip of alcohol from the time we wake up January 1st until midnight February 1st. It wasn't easy for a bunch of mid to late 20's sales guys with happy hours and events scattered on our calendars, but it can, and has been done. After a few days into our first year, we got to thinking, what if we raise money for our "sacrifice" and donate it to a great cause. And the legend was born. We discovered that the awesome company most of us work for - CDW - would actually match us 100% in any donation we made to a 501c3 organization. So we put our heads together and decided to focus our fundraising efforts on The Boys and Girls Club of America (2013). We made a $2,500 donation, and raised a glass in celebration. In 2014, we selected the Loudoun Child Advocacy Center in Leesburg and raised $3,000. With our company match we were able to make a $6,000 contribution.
This year, we've turned our group of 4, into a group of 9, and are hoping to raise $5,000, to make a $10,000 donation. Our charity this year is Urban Alliance. Urban Alliance is a Youth Empowerment program helping under privileged kids work towards graduation High School and College through an "internship", with assistance and mentors. To date they have helped over 10,000 children. 100% have graduated High School, 90% have been accepted into College, and 90% feel comfortable in an office setting or professional environment.
