Nina's Breast Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Nina is a young woman who immigrated to US from Georgia (Eastern Europe) following her dream of a better and brighter life. Prior to her arrival she discovered she was pregnant, but she still made a choice of taking this trip, now creating a better future for her children. She gave birth to wonderful twin boys who she along her husband (me). Soon after our settlement, we have lost all our belongings to the Hurracane Sandy, leaving us with two newborns and a stroller on the street. We have managed to overcome this obstacle with invaluable help from many good people and a year later have found a bright and affordable apartment where we have created a lovely home for our children. Nina was a stay-home mom, taking care and educating her children. I worked hard on any possible job to provide for the family. It all looked nice and promising until few months ago, at the age of 37, Nina was diagnosed with Stage 3 Advanced Breast Cancer. This news brought the whole mixture of feelings and big changes to our life. At first, Nina was shocked. Then got really upset and frastrated. Next was the anger. After a little while we have realized that God have sent us another test, which they have pass. There were two options: to accept it as a curse and be missarable, or to accept it as the mean to reassess our life. So, we've chose to fight, no matter what, chose to be positive, to take this journey with pride and dignity, with love and care. We've chose LIFE. Being a mother of twin boys who has dedicates her life to a well-being and care of her children, now Nina has to share her time between Doctors Visits, Tests, Screanings and all other adjoining activities. I had to switch to a part time job in order to take a full time care of the children and Nina's medical needs. Our family's ever growing bills add significant stress and frustration. The time counts against us, thus we  have to seek the alternative forms to finance Nina's treatment. Nina is preparing for her second chemotherapy scheduled for the last week of August, but unfortunately, due to insurance policies we have to fight for approval of each procedure on and on. Some of which may not even be covered. As you can imagine, these circumstansee bring quite immense financial expenses, that neither of us can handle alone. We are heading on a very difficult journey. Probably the hardest ever. The success lays in the positive attitude backed by same positive support from people around. Nina has received an overwhelming amount of support from her loved ones, friends, and people we had no acquaintance of. This gives her tremendous strength to fight. And even being strong, one cannot pass it alone. Nor psychologically or financially. It is always hard to ask for yourself, but considering the reality we have still decided to start this campaign as whatever happens to us, reflects on our children directly. Any help is important. Any donation is valuable. Please donate as much or as little as you can to assist us on our journey to win this battle. Words are valuable. No pity though. We remain positive as what is important is the present and future of our children. We thank you and I wish you health and health and health again. Nina M.
