The Nick Giovanni Fund

Hello, My name is Jim and I am the Recreation Director for my local town.  One of my fitness instructors was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer.  This has saddened our entire community.  He is one the most selfless individuals I have ever met. Every season  of every year he taught fitness programs for our Recreation Department and never once accepted a cent to teach these classes.  He just wanted to spread the joy of fitness to people.  He would routinely have 40 to 60 people show in for free fitness wednesdays at our local park.  Not to mention the countless people he trained to run their first 5K.  He introduced hundreds of people to running year after year and did it because he wanted to give back to the community, he enjoyed the sport and wanted to share that love.  
Nick was a volunteer you could call at a moments notice and he would be there.   Cooking at the senior luncheons, volunteering at the soup kitchen, collecting shoes for soles 4 souls, or hosting pay it forward garage sales at his house(where you can come and take something you need as long as help someone else in the future).  He dedicated his life to making his community a better place, and now he is battling cancer and needs our help.  
If you have ever run a race in the tri state area and you saw someone running in a black or powder blue tuxedo (his signature), you indeed were running alongside Nick Giovanni.
