Thank you for checking out my sponsor page for the Summer 2013 Adoration Mission Work Team. Your support will go directly towards the travel, accommodations and basic supplies needed for myself on this work team trip.
A little bit about Adoration and my relationship with the program...
Adoration Christian Center offers hope and healing to children in desperate situations in Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince. It is a holistic Christian social mission that strives to address the educational, spiritual and medical needs of families, bringing hope to the heart of Haiti. Since the earthquake in 2010, this especially includes humanitarian aid. During my trip we will be helping with the continuing building and maintenance necessary for the center to run effectively.
I have been involved with Adoration since around 2007. My cousin Grant Kottelenberg introduced me to Adoration when he was on the promotions committee and asked if I would like to be involved. After hearing about what Adoration was all about, I joined the committee myself and the rest is history. My wife and I have also been blessed with the ability to sponsor a young girl, Eline, since her kindergarten years and who is now 11.
Though I am still involved with Adoration in many ways, I always wanted get to Haiti and help hands on, especially after the earthquake. This summer, that opportunity has finally come, and I am excited to be included in the work team and all that is in store for us.
Our group leaves August 19th and will be there until the 30th. We will be completing whatever construction projects are needed as per the director, Randy Lodder. We will be helping in a very practical way to "rebuild Haiti from the inside out".
