Nick's Fight Against Cancer!

I never thought of taking this step and I know for a fact that my husband would have never taken it.  Everyone who knows me will tell you, I am not one to ask for help.  However, my dear friend Yoly told me about this website and I was moved by the kindness and compassion that exists in this world.  There are people that still believe in helping others out of the goodness of their hearts.

This is my husband  Nick and my son Nicholas.  Nick has been fighting lung cancer (non-small cell adenocarcinoma  with T790M mutation) since 2009. He has had multiple surgeries, chemotherapies, and radiation treatments throughout his journey and giving up is not an option.

I met Nick working together on weekends at the hopsital we work for.  We married in October of 2004 and had a wonderful healthy baby boy in 2008.  Just a year old and he started learning about his dad's medical condition through hospital, and doctor visits.

Our son Nicholas has been the inspiration and motivation for my husband's fight. God's love and grace are his fuel.

Playing hero!

This journey has brought a toll on our family financially.  Nick is no longer able to work due to his advanced cancer stage and medical treatments.  Only one of his medications monthly copay is $225.00 after insurance assistance and Publix discount.

His faith is so strong.  He believes that God will grant him his wish, but in the meantime; I would like to grant him a wish, a happy moment, a memory...  He always wanted to visit Pearl Harbor or watch the whales swim in Alaska.  I plan to take him on one of these trips soon before his tired body weaken him more.

Luminaria Ceremony

Every year since 09, we have participated on this wonderful event where family, friends, and community get together on one night to celebrate those who are fighting, fought, or in memory of those who battled cancer.  As a former Team Development Chair, I was honored to be part of the East Kendall Relay for Life event.

For a great cause!

My name is Esther Gonzalez and tomorrow  10/22/14 is my husband's birthday.  My wish to you is only one...

                                          I love you Nick!

Thanks to all who read my link and support us on this journey.  God bless you and keep you safe always.

         Love,

         Esther Gonzalez
