School supplies-Nicaraguan kids

Donation protected

Hi Facebook friends, as you many of may know I was in Nicaragua last week.  It has been a dream of mine to see how I can help some of the kids in this poor country. I grew up in one of these poor neighborhoods in Managua and understand the need that these kids have, from not having much to each, any thing to wear, not being able to go to school because they have nothing.  As their new school year approaches next February 5th, my cousin Ariel who lives in Nicaragua asked me if I was still interested in helping  kids in this country and  suggested that a way to do help right now is to see if we could raise funds for school supplies.  Education is the best way to help these kids, without education they will never be able to dream of being someone in the future. We are trying to raise enough funds to buy school supplies for about 100 kids living in the poorest neighborhoods in Managua, Nicaragua and our goal is $3,500.  This will provide each kid with a backpack with school supplies to start their new school year.  All the money raised will go to this purpose only, no administrative fees will go to anyone.  We live in a great country that provides us the opportunity to be able to reach out goals if we put an effort and work hard, those kids in Nicaragua will need someones' efforts in order for them to be able to reach theirs.  I ask you to join this effort along with me, you do not have give a lot, a little will go a long way for these kids and I promise you they will appreciate it with all of their hearts.  Please donate!

Here are some facts about Nicaragua - One of the poorest countries in Latin America after Haiti.  $200 is the salary people earn per month, $2,400 per year- those individuals with high school education.  This $200 only allows individual to barely have something to eat and enough money to pay for transportation to get to work, and live in the poor neighborhoods.  There are kids on every corner selling gum or candy to help support their families, kids who do not go to school and their lives will never change, which will eventually drive them to deliquency.  Please, let's help make a difference in someone's life.
