Let's help Nic RIDE THE DIVIDE!

If you have ever met Nic Handy, you know that his hunger for adventure is larger than that of most humans. He lives on two wheels and is always pushing himself to new and exciting limits when it comes to riding his bike. He has been dreaming of riding the fully self- supported mountain bike race known as the Tour Divide for years and has been pouring his heart into planning for this trip. The guy even rode his bike from Denver, Colorado to Lake Tahoe, Nevada to prepare for the Tour! Unfortunately, he has fallen behind in saving for this ride, and it is up to those of us that want to see him succeed to help him along. The Tour Divide is a grueling 2,745 mile long bike route from Banff, Alberta (Canada) down to Antelope Wells, New Mexico along a network of trails and back roads. Nic needs funds for him (and his bike) to travel to Canada for the start, as well as travel money for the bus ride from Antelope Wells to Phoenix and air fare back to Denver. He also needs funds to help cover bills while he is away, and emergency money for food and other unexpected expenses along the way. Let's make this kid's dream come true, so he can keep us all entertained and inspired by his incredible adventure tales. By sheer infectiousness of his excitement and thirst for fun, he has most likely touched your life in one way or another. Maybe his will to ride everywhere, rain or shine, inspired you to break out the snow gear and have some fun. Maybe he taught you a different line to take while riding cyclocross, or helped you realize you could ride or run longer or harder than you ever thought possible. Whatever your connection with Nic, I'm sure you would be proud to say "I helped that guy ride his bike from Canada to New Mexico..." Let's face it, he would do the same for any one of us in a heart beat! Let's do this! Let's help get The Machine on the journey of his life!
