Ngoc Cancer On Its A$$

Help Ngoc kick cancer's a$$!

12 years after first receiving her first cancer diagnosis, after being cancer free for 5.5 years, Ngoc has now received her 3rd diagnosis and she's sick of it! She's never had a fundraiser before, so let's help her pay her medical bills, kick cancer's ass and move on with living life to its fullest!

HERstory:
Ngoc was first diagnosed in July 2005 when she was 22.   After months of fatigue and abdominal pain, doctors removed a tumor and and her left ovary.   She was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins lymphoma, entered into radiation and aggressive chemo therapy immediately, and was declared cancer free by February 2006. But only 8 months later, in November 2008, her cancer returned and she was diagnosed with her first recurrence of the Follicular lymphoma; the indolent (slower growing) form of the cancer. She underwent a 5-year long battle to treat this slower growing cancer when an aggressive, fast-growing tumor began to rapidly form and wrap itself around her femoral artery. Because of the extremely high risk of accidentally nicking her artery, there were no surgeons willing to operate to remove it so she continued to treat with chemo therapy rounds off and on. After several years of writing case studies, and petitioning, her care team was finally able to transfer her to the Mayo clinic where she could participate in a clinical trial that could inhibit the growth of her slow-growing cancer cells with new groundbreaking treatments that targeted and shrank the tumor away from her artery enough that her surgeon could operate to remove it in August 2010 and was officially declared cancer free in April 2011.

The Battle Continues.....
After 5 and half years of being cancer-free, Ngoc started feeling fatigued and sick again in July 2016.  She was diagnosed with recurrent follicular lymphoma in October with tumors localized in her abdomen. She had surgery to remove some tumors and lymph nodes and is currently in a course of chemotherapy lasting through July.

My sister Ngoc is fearless and funny and has faced all this adversity head on.  Help me help her by reducing some of the worries that long term illness and treatments bring to her life.
