Newfie Tessa in hit-n-run accident

Our sweet 4 year old Newfoundland, Tessa, was nowhere to be found when my son went to feed her on Monday 1/26/2015.  We were devastated when we discovered her on the side of the road, right near our rural country home, in shock, after being hit & abandoned by a passing vehicle. She survived thanks to the efforts of Idaho Vet Hospital- where it took all day to get her stabilized.  She suffered internal bleeding, and several snapped ligaments in both knees. Tuesday she was transferred to Sun Valley Animal Center in Ketchum, Idaho. There she was evaluated by an othopedic specialist, Dr. Acker, who also discovered a shattered pelvis.  Here she is awaiting surgery on both knees and her pelvis.  She also has 2 hairline hip fractures that do not need to be addressed at this time, but could become more serious in her recuperation period.

Tess was bred (AI) three weeks ago for a batch of brown and black newfie pups, and was showing all signs of pregnancy. The doc says the pups may or may not survive. He says at this early point in pregnancy, if babies are compromised, they won't make it, but if they are healthy, they can.

We'd appreciate your prayers!
