Ghana Orphanage Playground & Christmas Presents!

As many of you are aware (or not) I have been In Ghana for the last month volunteering in an Orphanage. ‘New Life’ Orphanage is a church run organisation that cares for many children-including those that have disabilities.
Volunteering in this Orphanage has truly changed my perspective on life. I have made some unbreakable bonds with many of the children and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of their lives.
Unfortunately, the Orphanage only meets the basic requirements for the care of the children- which means the concept of having ‘fun’ is , essentially, missing. Although I have witnessed their impressive imaginations at play time , with the minimum resources they have, I feel as though their opportunities to be children have been stripped away from them.
It occurred to me that, as they spend majority of their playtime outside, the idea of building a ‘disabled friendly’ playground would be ideal in providing them with an opportunity to be children and have fun.
What child doesn't get fed up of a playground?
This project is one that has a special place in my heart. My end goal is to provide an area for all the children in the orphanage with a place to escape to, have fun, and simply just be kids.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will allow this project to move forward in the right direction.
