Nelson Carey Education Fund

Donation protected
This crowdfund has been established to commemorate the life of Nelson Carey and raise money to be used for the education of his daughter, Paige Carey.

Nelson Carey, the owner of Grand Cru wine bar, was one of Belvedere Square's most iconic and loved characters. His untimely passing has left a giant hole not only in the hearts of his friends and family, but also in the hearts of everyone involved with Belvedere Square.

Greg Novik, one of Nelson's closest friends and fellow Belvedere Merchant described Nelson as his "guidepost".  "He had a way of making everyone feel as though they were his best friend."

Nelson's outgoing personality, willingness to help, deep knowledge of food and wine, and constant cheerful demeanor will be greatly missed.

Please read this Heartfelt Tribute to Nelson Carey written by longtime friend Charlie Vascellaro.

Nelson's daughter, Paige, will be attending art school next fall in New York City.  We are binding together as a community to give Paige and her mother, Christy, the support that they need.

Please note that donations will also be accepted at any of our Summer Sounds at the Square concerts throughout the month of August.
