Neal Swims for Life!

On the morning of September 12, 2015, I will brave the dark, angry, bone chilling, great white shark infested waters of the North Atlantic to partake in the Swim For Life, a 1.4 mile (2.3 km) open water swim from from Long Point at the very tip of Cape Cod, across Provincetown Harbor, to the Boatslip Resort. Most of us know Provincetown as a charming summer resort town, with its beaches, restaurants, bars, art galleries, buskers, drag queens, sand dunes, stunning landscape, fishing, bicycling, etc. At its core though, Provincetown is a rural town of about 2,900 inhabitants which faces some of the problems that many small towns across US face (employment and educational opportunities, substance abuse and access to healthcare, etc), as well as many unique social problems related to the town's status as a seasonal destination and artists' colony. Your donation to the Swim For Life will benefit AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod, Helping Our Women, Provincetown Rescue Squad, Outer Cape Health Services, Lower Cape Ambulance, Soup Kitchen of Provincetown, The Compact Community Fund, Provincetown Public Schools and Youth Reach at the Provincetown Art Association & Museum, among other community support organizations. This is my first open water swim and I think it is for a very good cause, so please consider supporting me!
