My name is Nancy Bell. I live in Homosassa FL. I am creating this fund for myself because on July 5, 2017, I was cooking pasta in my kitchen. The stove top all the burners were on and red. I recenty moved after 25 years... Pot of water boiling. I somehow managed to fall. I believe I had a seizure or blacked out. I was alone. My memory is spotty but I remember pealing my arm off the buner, the smell of my singed flesh and I collapsed to the floor. I had several seizures while on the floor. My boyfriend found me, but could not get in becuse the doors were locked. I managed to get him in. I recall him begging m to goto the hospital. I swore I was fine. (being in shock is weird). I landed at Seven Rivers Hospital and was rushed by ambulance an transpored to Tampa General Hospital Burn Unit. I immediately undewent surgery. There was talk of removing my arm at the elbow. I had 2 cadever transplants and then they grafted skin from my thigh (all the way around my thigh no skin left!) so 3 major skin graf urgeries. I remanined positive and so grateful for the amzing care I was receiving. I did not know at the time how life threatening my burns were. I can tell you this is the mmost pain I've ever endured!!
I rushed thru recovery knowing I had to get back to work. I had just moved into a rental home as my home is being forclosed on. I had to have income and insurance. That was my goal. go back to work! I went back to work at Citrus Hills/Terra Vista. Yes I am insurance agent but I took a leave. I needed less stress. I need this job to be insured and to give me income! I was advised by the Dr's to go to rehab inpatient for 30 days. I went home instead. I know how hospital bills pile up.
On August 10th I was fired, for not communicating effectively via txt msg with my boss. Therefore, in their eyes I missed a day of work without notifying anyone. Regardless, that ended my insurance! I am in pain. I cannot attend physical therapy as I am uninsured1. Then Hurricane !! 7+ days with nopower, no running water, no ac no connection to the world. I have been applying to jobs and asking for any job to have income but being almost my entire lft side is 3rd degree burns and bloody icky bandages Im just not hearing anything positive hen my hopeful, educated self applies for jobs.
My injury 3rd degree burns from myleft elbow to my fingers,
I lost use of my melted pinky. I have 1/2 of a left breast and the brun is so deep and painful, cooked th fat off my abs. My Left brest bured half way off which if you know me is no little burn.
I neeed help ASAP!
All money raised will be used for my transportation back and forth to Tampa General Hospital as well as other related Dr appts,
Medicine and insurance.
the daily needs of neosporine and bandgages.
Bills incurred for this incident.
as well as the for need therapy. Physical assistance and plasitc surgery on my arm, breast and stomach.
All because I somehow fell in a kitchen of a home I just rented because my house went back to the bank.
Add Hurricane happening!! Yikes 7 days no power, running water...
I did get insurance that is effctive Oct. 1st. Thank God but that costs $$ therefore I have nothing for food, rent, bandages etc. It costs over 100.00$ per week to bandage provide bandages!
I am finding out this is only the beginning of my recovery and I have a LONG way to go and medical assistance, medicine is needed and will continue to be necessary.
I did NOT want to ask for assistance from anyone. I cannot let my pide stop me. Even the Catholic Church asks for donations. SO if you have it in your heart to donate to me. I sincerely thank you for any consideration, donations, and prayers.
Some pictures are not shown for the graphic and severity as for my modesty.
God Bless everyone.
