Help Nathan Hale family after fire

Donation protected
A Nathan Hale family needs our help.

Early Sunday morning, April 23, a two-alarm blaze tore through West Cottage Street in Dorchester, displacing 12 people. (Here's a news report of the blaze: https://patch.com/massachusetts/boston/six-alarm-fire-displaces-17-fire-officials-say)

Several of this family's children attend the Nathan Hale School in Highland Park. They lost everything in the fire. Here's their mom's account:

"I went to check the hallway but before I could get to the door I could see a cloud of black smoke coming towards me. I opened the door to see if there were flames, then ran back up my stairs told my two oldest children to get out the house while I ran to grab my youngest from his crib. I started to cough the smoke was too heavy so I covered him up and ran out. When we finally got outside the fire department began to arrive. The kids had barely anything on and for a few hours we watched the fire department tear our home apart in an attempt to get the fire out, before it spread to the connected dwellings.

"We lost everything and have to start all over. I asked for help from agencies, but they denied us funds because we weren't living in a shelter for 60 days."

We, a group of Nathan Hale parents, are stepping up to help this family get back on their feet. And we'd like you to help. We're working on getting a collection location for items such as books, blankets, and clothes for the family. Meanwhile, we've set a goal of raising $2000 for the family. 100% of the money donated to this fund will go to the family to help them rebuild their lives. Can you donate $10 to help this family get back on its feet? $20? $50? $100? All donations, big or small, will help.  We'll send an update to all donors detailing the money raised and when it is given to the family. (Donations are not tax deductible.)

Thank you for supporting our Nathan Hale family and neighbors!
