Naomi’s Volunteer Trip to Tanzania!

My name is Naomi. I'm 18 years old, pre-nursing student, and freshman at San Francisco State University.  This summer I will be going to Arusha, Tanzania as a medical volunteer with Volunteering Solutions. The main purpose of this trip is to provide medical care to the people of Arusha. My role as a volunteer is to shadow the doctors and nurses, and assist patients and professionals as needed. 

I will be leaving July 30 for 3 weeks and will need the funds by the end of June. Here is a list of what needs to be paid for: 
Application fee: $250
Program cost: $390
Airfare: $1,300 or more
Visa/Work permit: $250
Personal Expenses: $250
Passport Renewal: $165

Supporting me and this trip will mean so much to me as I aspire to be a neonatal nurse in the future and being able to experience my mother's homeland of Tanzania. After my trips to Haiti in the past, I realized that I want to devote my life and career to helping people around the world, so I also want to open my own medical non-profit organization.
This trip will allow me to experience healthcare in this developing country, gain medical and cultural experience, and allow me to help the local people of Arusha.
