Our names are Shakira Branch and Torri Van Nellestyn, two current volunteers currently volunteering at Naivicula District School with Lattitude Global Volunteering. We have been teaching here in this wonderful village for 6 weeks and will continue on our placement for a further 2 months.
With an amazing help from the past volunteers, Bridget Oag, Kathy Zu and Matthew Cooper, the schools library has began to be built for the students of Naivicula, and now has four walls and a floor. However, it needs a roof to finish it off! The students "library" is currently situated in a small room also used as the office, the computer room, the sports room and used for storage of tools and garden equipment.
Our request to you is to please help these wonderful children, by donating to assist us in finishing off the schools library. The approximate cost is $2000 AUS to finish it off, and what an amazing way to finish the school year, with a library built for the start of 2015.
These children are simply amazing, and would greatly appreciate any donation made, big or small. As well as myself and Torri and the staff at Naivicula District School.
Please help us with this cause. The financial situation in many of these Fijian families make it near impossible to make any significant changes for our community. Any amount donated counts and is much appreciated.
Vinaka vakalevu (thank you very much).
