Their double-decker party bus — which was not only their last source of income but also their home — was recently destroyed due to city action and neglect. This isn’t just personal tragedy; it’s a story of how systemic indifference and gentrification are converging to dismantle the soul of Brooklyn.

<div>Imagine transforming a double-decker bus into a mobile art space, a home, and a community hub. That’s exactly what <strong>Robin French</strong> did. As an artist living with <strong>CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome)</strong>, Robin created <strong>DoubleDeckerDisko </strong>— a sanctuary of joy, music, and togetherness rolling through Brooklyn.

<div>But not everyone appreciated it. As Robin struggled through a new region of his body succumbing to his disorder and being overcome with <strong>constant, excruciating pain</strong> in yet another area of his body — no relief from the pain or end to the rapid progression in sight — the immediate plans being made to tow DoubleDeckerDisko could physically not be immediately attended to.

<div><strong>Then a strange sequence of events occurred</strong>, unlike any other in the years of its existence.

<div>The tires appeared slashed, rendering it unable to be easily towed. Clothing and a mirror appeared set up outside. Then, on <strong>March 11, City Councilwoman Alicia Vaichunas</strong> appeared with a <strong>LARGE group of bored looking taxpayer-funded workers, <em>declared it a hazard and towed it away.</em></strong>

<div>Whether through negligence, indifference or <strong>SOME SECRET THIRD THING </strong>it was immediately driven by the NYPD tow under a low bridge, decapitating the entire second floor. Years of work, art, and memories? <strong><em>Gone in an instant.</em></strong>

<div>The destruction wasn’t just structural. Robin lost nearly <strong>ALL</strong> of his worldly possessions, including <strong>countless priceless family heirlooms</strong>: a real Persian rug from Constantinople, vintage lamps from the green room of Studio 54, and a rare collection of antique fans curated over years. These weren’t just artifacts — they were <strong>soul</strong>, <strong>history</strong>, and <strong>identity</strong>, obliterated in one careless act.
