<div>We are a coalition of farmers, landowners, and concerned residents in Southeast Minnesota united by a shared responsibility to protect the Driftless region we call home. Many of us are multi-generational stewards of this land—deeply connected to its farms, bluffs, waterways, and rural way of life.

</div>
<div>We are raising funds in response to the proposed “Gopher to Badger” (MariBell) 765 kV transmission line—one of <strong>the largest high-voltage power projects ever planned in the United States</strong>. As currently proposed, this massive industrial corridor would cut directly through our county, requiring nearly <strong>200-foot towers</strong> and a greatly expanded, permanently cleared path across private property, farmland, and sensitive landscapes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This effort is about more than a power line. <strong>It’s about protecting a rare and fragile region shaped by unique karst geology, preserving working farms and groundwater, and defending the quiet character and natural beauty that define our community.</strong> Many residents feel they have not been adequately informed or given a meaningful voice in decisions that will have permanent consequences for their land and livelihoods for generations.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Funds raised will support community outreach, educational efforts, and resources to ensure residents are informed, organized, and able to participate fully in the process. <strong>We are also working to challenge the current proposal for an overhead 765 kV line and to advocate for responsible, well-studied alternatives that prioritize health, safety, property rights, and the long-term sustainability of our region.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At its core, this is a community standing together to ensure that decisions about our future are not made without us. <strong>Your support helps give a voice to the people who live here—and helps protect this landscape for generations to come.</strong>
