Dear Friends and Family,
We’re excited to announce the recent marriage of Brandon & Amanda Durham! The happy couple was married on August 26th in Amanda’s home country of Brazil, in the presence of dear family & friends. We know that many friends and family from around the world would like to celebrate this happy occasion!
OUR STORY: Amanda loves ballet, art, and the big city. I love hunt’n, sports, and going barefoot. We’re worlds apart. She was an actress & model. I was a lonesome pastor who watched too many romantic comedies. It was just a matter of time before we blurred the lines between fiction and reality.
And so, we met, in Christian Café, an internet ‘catfishing,’ I mean, ‘dating’ site. Amanda later told me she took one look at my profile/pic and said to herself: ‘He’s gonna be my husband!’ And I took one look at Amanda’s beautiful pic/profile and said, ‘She’s never gonna be my wife!’ What I didn’t expect is that God was already preparing this extraordinary woman to be my wife!
Backstory: In 2015, Amanda was diagnosed with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis, which God used to dramatically redirect her life. Amanda left behind her acting career and began praying about a new, niche role; namely, enacting the ‘Good News’ internationally, alongside a pastor, (a part I was happy to audition for!)
Illness has raged in this opening scene (6 weeks) of our marriage, but my beautiful wife has displayed incredible depth of character in the face of exhausting pain. We would never have written such a script for our lives, but we’re committed to trusting in the God who promises to direct all things for our good. His grace carries us hour to hour. We love being married to one another. My wife is my greatest earthly treasure.

Dear Friends and Family,
It is with great JOY that I share this page with you. James Brandon Durham is getting married! His beautiful bride to be, Amanda, said YES!!! Now, normally at weddings we go to the bride and groom's registry to buy something they'll like only use a few times, or even more likely, return it because they really wanted bed sheets or the pots and pans. But in Brandon and Amanda's case they need our support in a totally different way, a more impactful way. Please join us in showing your love and support through this giving page and help kickstart their marriage.
STORY
I've been a student of my brother for all my life, watching him live out a selfless life, seeking the Lord and loving others like no else I've ever known. If you know Brandon, then you know that he has prayed a long time for a wife and trusted the Lord to bring him his help mate. In his waiting though, he has unceasingly given himself away for the Gospel. It is without question that if someone was in a room without a friend, it wouldn't be long before Brandon made them feel welcomed. Giving rides to total strangers, meeting a homeless friend who later becomes his roommate... To the least of these, as Christ calls us to love, Brandon has given his time, his money (sometimes too much) lol, his home, his car and his food... to those who were in need. The stories are far too many to list, the lives he's impacted are uncountable. He passed up jobs or churches that may have paid more, and instead, followed God's leading to small towns, diverse cultures, and foreign countries.
Over the past few years we would often spend hours on the phone. He is one of my heros in the faith. There is no one in the world I've hope and prayed for to find a wife than him, a best friend to share his life with. Many have come and gone. Some we thought may be the one, but they were not Amanda. I haven't met her yet, but I will, and hopefully you will too. I can only imagine for now that she must be a very special woman. Our family is blessed to have her and the peoples' live they touch together will be too.
Now, it is time for us to GIVE to Brandon (& Amanda). He didn't ask us to do this, but I couldn't think of a better way to let them know we believe in them and support them, than to meet their greatest need in their greatest time of need.
There are many upfront expenses that we can help blessed them with the funds to cover. They are getting marriend in Brazil this month! It will mean the world to them if we can not only meet this campagn goal, but far exceed it. Many of you know Brandon is planting a church in Houston. His launch date is one month after they return to Houston from their honeymoon. Let's not let finances be a concern for them starting their lives together, serving God and pastoring his church family.
FUNDING GOAL & BEYOND
$7000 is a big goal. $12,000 is their actual need. Compared to most weddings, this is a drop in the bucket. Weddings in Brazil are expensive. NOW, if 120 of us can help by giving $100 each, then they will MEET THEIR ACTUAL WEDDING NEEDS!! See below for the break down of the weeding costs.

Pots and Pans may come and go
Bed Sheets and kurags are a must fa sho
But it's the cost of airfare
They can quite bare
This wedding will be far away
But your support will be known on that day.
Save your trip to Brazil
Give to them and save some money still
Once they're back to the states
We'll throw a party like no one else celebrates
That will be the time when you can share
And enjoy all the punny jokes you can bare
As we watch God bring together
These two love birds forever
