Hello All,
I have been helping people for over thirty years and now I really need your help. I have work in social services with justice involved youth, teen moms, adults struggling with subtance abuse and mental health issues and persons living with HIV/AIDS . After many years decided to go back to school. Although I have tons of experience I do not have the advanced degree for my profession (MSW) and it has been used to keep me out of positions for which I am well qualified.
As providence would have it, I got accepted to a program at Long Island University-Brooklyn Campus on 8/28/17, two days before new student orientation. Unfortunately, it was too late to apply for any grants. Toward the end of my first semester I was informed that my agency is cutting the HIV education and treatment programs I supervise. I know that I will have time to apply for assitance for the next school year, but I need help completing this semester as I will be losing my job in June 2018. My expenses include:
-Tuition
-Books
-Transportation
The semester starts next week. Anything you do to assist me will be greatly appreciated. No amount is too small. Every donation counts. I want to thank you in advance for your help and I pray God's blessing upon you and yours.
