Don’t let good art go unseen!

This is a really cool, companion element to a new mural project in downtown Ogden, UT.  You can read that call for proposals HERE .  [Update 2/18/19:  Call for Submissions is now CLOSED]

Community: creation.donation.curation

For every call for artists, there are dozens to hundreds of submissions that are only seen by the selection committee. That stops here. In a unique twist on the typical mural project process, O1ARTS wants to give those otherwise invisible works of art a chance to see the light of day.

With your donations, we will print the submissions really big.  Like billboard big? That might be too big, but definitely big enough to see and enjoy in our O1|PLATFORMS location. These will remain on display during the month of March for the community to view and vote on.

The more money we raise, the more submissions we can put on display for you to enjoy!
Investing in your community, even if the amount is small, means a lot. This is your place, on your street, in your neighborhood and your #ARTicipation can make a world of difference.

Funds collected here will be used only to offset printing costs for the submissions we display at PLATFORMS.  The mural itself is being paid for by the property owner.

Mural project details:

The 97-ft, bare concrete wall, located on the east-facing parking lot wall of The Monarch (455 25th Street) in downtown Ogden, will be divided into thirds, and three artists/teams with the most votes will transform the space into a collection of murals celebrating the character and diversity of Utah, Ogden City, The Monarch, the East Central Neighborhood, and the Nine Rails Creative District. The cost for the actual mural and installation is funded by The Monarch .

About O1ARTS :

Our O1|WALLS initiative is designed to unite artists and neighborhoods - to create art that transforms public spaces and individual lives. We want it to be a community revitalizer and placemaker, with a diverse representation of local, national, and international artists – encompassing everything from old school graffiti to the latest techniques and technologies.

O1|PLATFORMS is a temporary creative place-making and community-focused project. It is a gallery-without-walls, hosting visual, performing and literary arts programming from March to November. As an open-air site, it is open to the community 24/7 with no admission or barriers. We give voice and exposure to those normally without it, in a safe, accessible space.
