Help Send Monica to Athens, Greece

My partner, Monica Valencia, was selected to present her academic research paper at the Migration Conference (http://migrationcenter.org/) in Athens, Greece from August 23-26, 2017.
Because she just graduated from law school, she doesn't qualify for school funding as a student. She is currently studying for the California State Bar and has to focus on preparing for her exam in July, which takes up her whole day. This means that she is not actually working right now to be able to afford to go to on this trip (plus those law school loans are horrible)!
I am starting this fund because I believe in her abilities to shed light on important global issues like poverty, migration and the law. It would also be amazing to help her get to Athens, Greece to present her research because we don't always see opprtunities like this in our community. This would be a one-of-a-kind experience for her and I hope that we can all make it happen.
Monica is extremely intelligent, passionate, thoughtful, and diligent. She is also very dedicated to issues of social justice and especially to immigrant communities because her parents are immigrants. Her paper "The Punishment of Poverty" is about how poverty and the law affect immigrant and undocumented women more than other populations. I think it is important for her to share her knowledge with the world.
This chance to go to Athens is amazing all on its own. More importantly, the chance for Monica to share the narratives of the immigrant women and issues they encounter is even more important especially in this political climate in the U.S., but also globally.
So far, these are the estimates that I have found online for airfare and hotel (AirBnB), plus the conference fee. If you can help in any way, we would really appreciate it. Any little bit helps, even $5.
