Help me help my daughter

Hello and thank you for visting our page. I'll try to be as brief as possible. I'm a single mom and my daughter is disabled. I am looking for assistance with past due bills and medical equipment. I am desperate, and I am not good at asking for help. My 5 year old daughter Metta was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome at age 2.  She lost the use of her hands, the ability to speak and is unsteady with walking.  It took us 6 months to get a diagnosis, which isn't very long considering the years it took some of the families I know.  Rett Syndrome is a very rare neurodevelopmental disorder that is caused by the spontaneous mutation of gene in the womb. We had no indication anything was wrong at birth and she developed normally until she was around 18 months. She went through a regression period and was very angry and frustrated when she attempted to do things she knew she could (like hold her cup and give herself a drink, feed herself, or pick up her toys and play with them.) She needs total care 24 hours a day.

 We are desperately behind on medical bills and impending doom is setting in. She needs so many specially designed items and every single one of them is out of our reach.

We moved to Virginia 5 months ago from PA and no longer have adequate medical coverage. She has been denied Medicaid, and social security because VA determines eligibility based on my income... My teacher salary (with 2 years of experience) is decent enough to cover our monthly bills, but there's nothing left to pay past due medical bills, or the new ones that keep coming, and there's definitely no extra money for unexpected trips to the emergency room, (like the one we had 2 weeks ago when she hit her head but because she cannot speak, it required an ambulance ride, medical supervison and testing to determine if she was ok, which thankfully she was fine no concussion, but we were hit with a bill for more than $1000) or special equipment, specialized leg braces, or the holy grail... a Tobii eye gaze computer that would give my daughter the ability to communicate but costs more than I make in a year.  I don't live an extravagant lifestyle (for example I drive a 15 year old car with 175,000 miles on it and am happy to do so, since it's my new car,  it gets us where we need to go).

I live within my means yet every day we seem to get further behind. I will never be able to afford my own home, a brand new car, or any of the other luxuries a college educated, professional with a good job should, and I'm ok with that. But the reality that I cannot afford the things my daughter needs to help her do the things most people take for granted, like walk or talk is unbearable. I'm asking for help to get caught up on medical bills, cover extensive co-pays for the many dr visits we must attend and obtain specialized equipment my daughter could use to become more independent and successful, so that I can focus my energy and worries can be where It should be, my amazing little girl.
