Mollie Hazen’s Breast Cancer Action

Donation protected
I want to tell you a little bit about my friend, Mollie, to inspire you to help her continue her life of giving to others. Mollie is now facing one of her biggest challenges of her life and she needs your immediate help.  Three weeks ago, Mollie was diagnosed with a metastasized breast cancer that she is doing everything in her power to conquer. Her health insurance company has failed her; therefore, she has researched and found an alternative cancer and medical treatment clinic that is located out of the state of California.

Mollie does not have a lot of time. To continue her life of giving to others, she needs $40,000 to afford treatment, transportation, and housing once there. The cost is $7,000/week and she needs our help as soon as April 2nd to begin treatment.  This is about taking action for a powerful woman who has helped many, many of us.

Mollie wears a variety of hats as an Arts/Culture Commissioner, Board member/President-elect of the Kensington Symphony Orchestra, photographer, and curator of her late husband Don Hazen’s stunning nature photography.  She’s also given years of service to the local Soroptimist International Clubs, Rotary International Clubs and local crime prevention committee where she served as chair/vice-chair. She received a State Legislative Award for her outstanding leadership in uniting the community in its fight against crime in the National Night Out Campaign. She currently also serves as vice-president of records for the El Cerrito Democratic Club E-board.  She became involved in compassionate aid in dying over 20 years ago, and she continues to serve as an action team leader in working with the nationally recognized  advocacy group Compassion and Choices. That organization was instrumental last year in getting the End-of-Life Option Act, ABX2-15, signed by Governor Jerry Brown: A groundbreaking medical-aid-in dying victory for millions in the State of California!

Mollie never thought she would be in a position to ask for your help, not her. Friends refer to her as: the strong one, the compassionate one who advocates for others, the active community leader pro-bono volunteer, the photographer/writer who donates her services to non-profits, and the one that others can count on when they are in need of guidance. Mollie is the one who “rarely asks for help” of any kind. I’ve known Mollie for years now, as the wife, and later widow of my friend, Dr. Don Hazen. Don was an amazing photographer and nationally known master Rolfer/healer. She supported and fought alongside Don for years against his own battle with cancer.

In support of this critical effort, donation perks of her late husband’s Don’s Hazen’s amazing nature photography are being offered. The first 20 Bronze tier funders, those gifting at the $50 level will receive a beautiful note card print. The first 10 Silver tier funders at $100 will receive her book of stunning images “The Light of Passion: The Legacy of Don R. Hazen”  (By the way, her book is on Amazon, too!) and, the first 10 Gold tier funders at $200, a larger unframed and unmatted 8x10 print copy of his breathtaking nature photography lovingly selected by Mollie. Please understand Mollie will not be able to administer the delivery of these amazing treasures until after she returns.

Feel Mollie’s power! There is no guilt for not giving. If this resonates, great, if not we ask that you please share this with your friends and family.

Thank you for your support for Mollie and her awesome future!
