Mobile Mom

For over twelve years my mother has been confined to a wheelchair. In the beginning days we had a wheelchair lift that we could throw on the back of the Blazer to get her to and from places. But it was time consuming, painful, and more and more difficult to transfer her into the vehicle as her Multiple Sclerosis ate away at her body. As most mechanical objects do, the lift had it's lifespan and quit working. This was about six years ago. So we started calling Rideline to take her to medical appointments and celebrated all holidays at her place. 2.5 years ago my father died suddenly of an aneurysm, leaving my mom stranded in their home for two days until she was found, confined to the bed, unable to call for help or move. Currently, she is living in an adult foster home and if we want to take her somewhere we are forced to walk her. This Christmas we hope to obtain a van of her own with a ramp so she can start living her life again. I want to show her that there is more to this world than her four white walls. At 55 she is too young to stop enjoying life. Please help us give her a present with a purpose. Thank you!!
