We are tens of thousands of citizens that reside in the Halton Region of Canada and its municipalities--one of which is Milton, Ontario where CN Rail has TOLD us, against our wishes, that they plan to build a massive industrial intermodal yard in the midst of our residential neighbourhoods, greenspace, athletic and education developments.
Milton Says No is a volunteer community organization started and run by regular citizens. We have just one objective: to learn all we can about this project and to then be able to help other everyday citizens understand the process through which we are opposing this development.
We are not against CN. We are actually PRO intermodal. But we are AGAINST this location, which is inappropriate. We respectfully ask CN to withdraw this proposal and to work with Canadian communities in order to select the best locations for these important facilities.
We strongly oppose the means by which CN is pushing this development through by seemingly attempting to circumvent us at the town, regional and provincial levels.
With our campaign comes many costs. Over the last four years, you can see we raised $4,500 which helped us offset expenses we incurred for the cost of lawn signs, documentation, and the preparation of official documents.
Now we are in June of 2019 and we ask again for you to donate what you can to help us offset a new $1,200 expense for the retention of an environmental consultant that we have hired as part of our public hearing presentations.
