My name is Miles Armstrong and I am a Junior majoring in Business Marketing at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. I am planning to spend my 2015 summer in Bahia, Brazil as part of the Morehouse Pan-African Global Experience (MPAGE) Bahia 2015 Study Abroad Program as a Student Ambassador. I am currently enrolled in a Portugese Proficiency Course and an Inerdisciplinary Social Science course as part of the study abroad program.
As you can imagine, embarking on this study abroad experience depends on financial support. I am requesting your financial assistance with achieving my fundraising goal. The total MPAGE Bahia 2015 Study Abroad Program cost is $4,000 which will cover program expenses including airfare, visa application, registration fees, on-ground in -country transportation, lodging, travel/health insurance, entry fees, and two meals a day in Bahia, Brazil. Upon my completion of this program, I will be able to earn up to 8 hours of college credit and an international cultural experience of a LIFETIME. Any amount that you would be able to contribute to make this experience possible would be greatly appreciated. Program Summary:
The Morehouse Pan-African Global Experience Bahia 2015 Study Abroad Program offers students the opportunity to cross borders throughout Africa and the Internation African Diaspora. The Steve Biko Cultural Institute (ICSB) in Brazil is the host institution for MPAGE activities between U.S. and brazilian students. The program will include home stays, excursions, lectures, workshops and service learning and enrichment activities.
Any contribution you make will be very much needed and appreciated. I will in return send you our MPAGE Bahia Newsletter so you can follow the progress of our development. Additionally, I can extend an invite for you to become an MPAGE Bahia Sponsor and be our honored guest for our 2015 MPAGE Bahia Luncheon in October, where MPAGE will report back on our service projects and learning outcomes.
