Miles For Megan 2015

Donation protected

I first met Megan while working at University Roadhouse when we were getting our undergraduate degrees at Western Michigan University. I have watched this young woman overcome so much in the past years and somehow always keep a smile on her face and a joke in her mouth. This past year she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma stage 2 B bulky; and approximately 20 weeks ago began her journey towards remission at Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Chicago. Throughout everything thrown at her she has never lost her sense of humor or positive attitude.
2015 however did not start as all had hoped, her most recent scan revealed her lymphoma had reemerged in her neck and it was time to start a more aggressive route of treatment. She now has 4 rounds of this new chemotherapy which is given over 8 days; the first 3 days she is inpatient with IV chemo, the next 4 days she is on oral chemo and then is on IV  and oral the last day. She has a PIC line in her arm the whole time she is there which goes from that vein into an ate try in her chest. She goes back every 21 days from the first day started (January 5, 2015).
As she enters this new chapter of treatment I would like to raise funds to help with her medical bills and expenses as she travels to treatment for days at a time. I have committed to participating in the "Glass Slipper Challenge" as part of the Disney Princess Half Marathon weekend running #MilesForMegan. This challenge will have me running a 10k Saturday February 21 followed by a half marathon Sunday February 22; running 19.3 miles total. One thing that has gotten me through this training is Megan and her attitude, her strength helps push me through each run. I would like to raise money for her so that she has less to worry about and can focus on her mission for remission. Please join me in helping this young woman who has inspired so many to live each day to the fullest and stay positive with whatever life throws your way.
