Mike's cancer treatment

My husband, Mike Greene, is a hard working man.  He has a huge heart, is very caring and generous.  The barbering business days are long and tiring, as most of his customers are well aware.  He spends upward of 12 hours a day caring for his clintelle and business.  He is a good provider to me and the light of his life, our daughter, Hannah, as well as a great step dad to my sons, Greg and Matt Nicholson.  

In November, Mike was diagnosed with lung cancer, which was detected during an emergency room visit for a stomach ailment.  Recently, it has been revealed the cancer is Stage 4, which means it has spread to outlying areas, in Mike's case, the kidneys, adrenal glands, diaphragm, hip bone and muscle areas.  The attending physician has stated this will be very difficult to treat, but we're determined kick cancer's ass.  Treatment has been scheduled to start on January 3.

Due to the fact Mike is self employed, there are no sick days or medical leave available to him.  Therefore, he is still attempting to work throughout the pain he is experiencing as this disesase progresses.  It has been recommended we also travel to Cleveland Clinic to consult with the oncology specialists,  as well.    

Both Mike and I work hard at our jobs, and although we live fairly comfortably, his and my absences from work due to treatments and side effects are going to take a toll on our lives.   Any little bit would be so greatly appreciated!
