Nobody can ever be completely prepared for what life has in store for them. Nobody is lucky and we all have
different circumstances that are more than inconvenient. Something that truly changes lives is cancer. My father, Mike Halligan,
was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer in October. This diagnosis not only changed his life plans of helping others but it has also been a major unexpected expense. Those who have beat cancer or have loved ones that have, know how life altering this diagnosis and treatment can be. In addition to the toll taken on your body physically and emotionally, there are major financial implications that can be devastating.
My father is a good man who has been a pillar in my life. I learned from him and my mother how to care for others and advocate for those in need. While my father has always gone above and beyond to help people in need, I ask that we do the same. He is the first to buy a hungry person a meal, loan his car to acquaintances to get to work, buy Christmas presents for kids in need, buy groceries for families with empty fridges, pay electricity bills for those with no money, or simply listen to people who need to be heard.
As he has always illustrated to others that there is humanity in this world, I ask that you do the same for him in an effort to fund his treatment to cure cancer.
