Help the Helper - Mike Trent

On Monday February 5th our Dad, Mike Trent, suffered an ischemic stroke while at home.  Luckily our Mom, Kathy, was home with him and recognized there was an issue.  he was immediately taken to a local hospital for preliminary testing.  Dad was life-flighted to OSU Medical in Columbus.  Dad was taken through the gauntlet of tests and scans, which yielded the need for emergency surgery to remove a blood clot from the right side of his brain.  The surgery was a success, but not without warranting ICU care and upcoming rehabilitation needs over the coming days and weeks.

It is through the power of prayer and the highly skilled staff at OSU Medical that our Dad is with us and recovering.  His recovery will be a long journey requiring patience and diligence as well as an altered lifestyle.

Those of you that know Mike, know him as a helper, one that would drop what he's doing to help a friend or family member with anything from automobile repair, moving, shuttling someone to a doctor's visit, or installing a sump pump.  We are asking our friends and family to give back and help the helper.  After 5 days in ICU/brain and spine center and the upcoming  daily therapy sessions, our parents will need assistance with the bevy of forthcoming medical bills.
