Words from Mickey's Family:

"Mickey and I know how we feel about each other and that's all that matters." The old saying " He's not heavy, he's my brother" is so true. Growing up, I tried to kill him so many times, but I got the snot beat out of me trying to keep anyone else from ever getting on him. He was mama's baby and everyone knew that and it was ok with us two sisters. What mama didn't or couldn't do for him, the two of us have tried to do. I love him so very much." - Rachel (Sister)

"As I sit here thinking about what Mickey means to me I realize there is not enough space in this comment box, so I will try to keep it short. life with Mickey has been both an adventure and a challenge! don't think I ever met anyone so hard headed or big hearted!!! Shane was right about him being tough on them sometimes....but if he hadn't been who knows what path they may have chosen. He is responsible for helping me and their daddy to mold them into the people they are today....and that I am grateful for. Is he your typical father and grandfather? no, but I'll bet you those typical fathers and grandfathers don't love their family anymore than he does his. Mickey has taken me to places and shown me things that I would have never got to do...that is where the adventure part comes in! I am saving those stories to write in a book someday!!!ha. It doesn't matter if we talk one time a day or twenty times a day before he hangs up or leaves he will say "I love you". He's a good and loving husband to me. I could go on and on with why he means so much to me, the truth is he's made me very happy, I love him with all my heart, I always have and I always will." - Faye (Wife)

"Mickey is the best 2nd daddy a girl could ever ask for, I used to get so mad at him for keeping such a tight reign on me until I had children of my own, now I completely understand how much he loves me! Always, no matter what has had my best interest in mind. I love him unconditionally for that!" - Amanda (Daughter)

"I thought he was always too tough on me growing up, but i realize now he was teaching me what life is about. I can't thank him enough for being there and doing the stuff he did for me when he didn't have to. He could have looked at my mother bein single with two kids and turned away. He did what a lot of men wouldn't have thought about doing." - Shane (Son)

"Mickey... Much like Jason likes to irritate people! I used to get offended and then one day me and Mickey had a talk.. Alone and I saw a different side of him. He may not know it or even remember it but he kept me from making a decision I would have regretted that afternoon. He loves us all even if he doesn't show it in a conventional way! Sometimes I just watch him when the kids are playing and you can actually see the love in his face for all those babies. I love that. He always tells them he loves them and they adore their mick mick!! 😉" - Kristi (Daughter-in-law)

"He was my hero n role model since i was about 13... it hasnt changed." - Damian (Nephew)

"He knows EVERYTHING ABOUT EVERYTHING, just like granddaddy Damian and Derek. (Guess its the Y chromosome). He can Mk anything work (at least for a min). He gives off a vibe of a rough and tough man but underneath all that hair and dirt he's an awesome uncle. He's who I call when I need a horse shoed at 6am the next day for a last min trail ride , who I call when Rheanna needs a horse to ride for a flag drill team (tonight). He's who I call when my friends are stuck on the side of the rd in west Memphis w 4 horses and broke down at 10 pm. He's who I call at 11 pm and take a horse to for meds at midnight because he fell and got hurt. He's who I call when I'm directing a wedding and need a heavy duty extension cord. So basically he's who u call when I need something done. And yes he's gonna have something smart to say but he does it and doesn't expect anything in return. EXCEPT NORMA SOL R. (inside joke only horse ppl will get it). I love him so much. And by the way, for those who don't know. All jokes aside. He's. OUR family. He's an amazing person and if ANYONE says anything bad about him they have us to deal with if they say anything bad about us they have him to deal with. Yea. I know. I talk as much as he does to. Sorry. He must be one of the smartest men I know bc I'm not sure he could hv picked another wife that would 'take care of' or 'put up with' him like Aunt Faye does." - Reagan (Niece)

"I've learned from my Uncle Mickey that family sticks together. His tough exterior protects the most gentle heart. I am so thankful to have him and Aunt Faye as my uncle and aunt!" - Shanna (Niece)

"One of a very few friends that never got on my bad side. We're old school and pretty much always been on the same page. Always been a friend. Rain or shine." - Rick (Friend)
