Michelle+Maria's Cancer Fight

Donation protected
Michelle Santiago and Maria Urena are fighting the cancer battle and we need your help. All donations collected will go towards all of their medical expenses and basic living essentials during these challenging times. In advance, we thank you for your support. Michelle's and Maria's story below....

Michelle has been a devoted, hard working, single mother who has always taken great pride in helping her family and others. Unfortunately, tragedy hit for Michelle in  March 2017. Michelle, not only lost her job, but before her medical insurance expired, decided to have a mammogram. When her results came back, she received the terrible news that she had bilateral breast cancer and needed to go through chemotherapy treatments prior to having surgery. Her surgery is scheduled for this October. Michelle will not be able to work full-time since she will undergo radiation, more chemo after surgery and a subsequent surgery. Her illness only allows her to work a few hours per week, which has brought financial challenges and put her and her family in financial distress. She will be out of full-time employment and it could take over six months before she is able to look for full-time employment again. This is why we need your help. No amount is too small.  Thank you!

Maria Urena.....
A 36 yr old mother of 3 children, Nate- 6, Chloe- 10 and Jonathan- 18. Maria decided to better her life and the life of her children. She attended the College of Westchester and in 2016 became certified as a Medical Biller. Maria was extremely excited that after completing her internship at Formé, she was  hired. Ironically,  Maria shared with us how this was the beginning of a new chapter for her life and she was looking foward to living a new life. Maria shared with our CEO how for the first time in her life, she had "gotten a break" and things were going well for her. A few weeks later, one of our physicians had to give her the terrible news that she had Acute  Myeloid Leukemia (AML). Maria is currently at Westchester Medical Center and will be undergoing chemotherapy 5 times a week for the next 6 months during which time she will be unemployed. As you can imagine,  this news has been devastating for all of us at Formé, her family and friends. This is why we need your help. No amount is too small. Thank you!
