Meredith S. Brown, The Continuing Equestrian 2016

For those who donated to Meredith for her 2015 competition season, THANK YOU. As you know she finished year in second place overall in the Pleasure Horse category. As you may recall Meredith started this campaign to help with her fees as I have started a ministry. The Heir & Heiress Club, Inc. is the ministry I started and it is picking up steam. We are requesting a $5.00 donation to support Miss Meredith Sinclaire Brown in her attempt to compete in the Virginia Beach Horse Show Association’s 2016 competition year. In just 3 years of competing, Meredith is an award-winning rider in the categories of Very Beginner Pleasure Pony, Walk/Trot, Pleasure Pony, and Pleasure Horse. In the 2016 show year, Meredith’s goal is to display her skills in the jumping skills in the category of Beginner Equitation.

Meredith discovered her love of horseback riding 4 years ago with starter lessons in western and English style riding. Her love of both styles of riding continued until a magical lesson that enabled Meredith to jump a practice hurdle. Excited for the experience, the English style won over Meredith’s heart. The Showing competition bug came 6 months later when Meredith was invited to attend a show to see if it was of interest to her. After attending the show, Meredith decided to give it a try. The rest is history.

Meredith is a 13-year-old, middle school student, with a 3.80 GPA.  Her goals are to be displayed as a fine artist and to become a large animal vet (horses a specialty). Her work is currently on display in art shows sponsored by Old Dominion University as well as the City of Chesapeake, VA.  In addition, Meredith is up for a position in the Academy of Science and Medicine in Chesapeake, VA. To further and reach these goals, Meredith recognizes the need for higher education through attending college.  She discovered that highly rated Universities seek Equestrians. Equestrian teams are becoming more popular and there is University funding set aside specifically for this sport. Although Meredith’s GPA will get her accepted to the University of her choice, making the Equestrian Team may be the way she pays for it. Therefore, Meredith finds her favorite sport as a way to pay for college. To accomplish this, Meredith must be able to continue competing and adding shows and placings to her resume’.
As she progresses, Meredith will be able to capitalize on cash prizes and scholarships. State and National Shows should present these opportunities.  Nevertheless, for now, she must find a way to stay in the game. Meredith will average 8 -10 shows a year.  English riding is a very expensive sport.  Your donation will fund...
* Training & Horse Leasing Fees.
*Transporting and stalling the horse.
* Entry Fees per show.
* Trainer and schooling fees.

Although I see her love for riding and of her riding partner Flora (Horse), the cost has become prohibitive. The family income cannot support the continuation of this sport without help. Please contribute to Meredith 2016 Show year so she can take one more step towards her goal of higher education. We are looking to raise a total of $5000.00 for the 2016 riding competition year.

Thank you very much for your love and support.
