Mending Myryja
Donation protected
Our friend and fellow karateka, Myryja Friesen has been in a serious car accident. A senior black belt of Kita Kaze, Whitehorse, Yukon, Myryja has trained in Shotokan Karate, Tesshinkan Kobudo and recently joined us in Iaido. She has been medevacked to Vancouver General Hospital with a broken ankle, femur, as well as several fractures to her spine and internal injuries (spleen, kidneys and heart). Under the care of specialists and surgeons, she has come a long way in just one week. We hope to learn soon when she will be returned to the Yukon but then her journey back to health is only just starting.
Myryja faces 3 months off her feet to allow her legs to heal. Her partner, Sean Clennett, will be taking time off work to manage her care but, without income, this time is looking even harder.
We ask for your help to take the pressure off of Myryja and her family just to meet daily expenses during this time. Whatever you can donate would be greatly appreciated and for that we give you our thanks.
