<div>This fund is to retain lawyers, experts, cover fees for filings, and fight for his civil liberties which were denied to him. He was arrested on a out standing warrant for not coming to court. He was fighting for police brutality which happened against him and the Chicago Police Department claims was against them. Video footage shows Alteriq never touched them. This fund will help to fight that case for him and several others now that he is gone.

<div>Alteriq lived on the streets because he choose to, as many who battle serious mental health issues often do. This factor helped to contribute to his treatment by the Chicago Police Department and other entities. He was abused, denied his rights and overlooked. His death could have been avoided with prompt medical treatment.
