Melanie Diaz- Cadet Team USA

Hello.  My name is Melanie Diaz.  I am 12 years of age.  I am a student as well as an athlete from Santa Clarita, CA.  I have been involved in the sport of taekwondo for more  than four years.  Taekwondo has impacted my life in so many ways that are positive and has set me with the life skills I believe that  will be beneficial to me in the future.  I have achieved over thirteen world, national, and state titles in two different organizations.  I am the first 59kg and over US National Cadet Team Member.  I am honored to be able to be apart of one of the best elite teams in the world!  My next goal is to proudly represent the US in Baku, Azerbaijan at the first World Taekwondo Federation 2014 Cadet World Championships.  Due to limited funding, US Olympic committee is only able to provide 25% funding for the trip at this time.  Athletes are responsible for the 75% balance.I am a little closer to one day accomplishing my dream.  As most you know the road to becoming an Olympian and World Champion has a great cost to it. To all my friends and family I do appreciate the support. Be assured I will be training hard to bring home the gold for USA!
