Meharry for Africa

Poverty and lack of medical resources are well known plights of many African countries. Our goal is to volunteer our knowledge and time for the duration of one week, to provide basic healthcare services at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana. Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital is a 2,000 bed, premier healthcare facility and is the only tertiary hospital in Southern Ghana. We also plan to volunteer through the City of Refuge Ministries to provide care to orphaned, trafficked, and abandoned children in Volta Region, Ghana. Needless to say, our service is expected to have a very strong impact!

A group of 10 medical and graduate students has been selected to volunteer in the Ob/Gyn and Pediatrics Department at Korle-Bu from March 21-29th. Donations of all sizes are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support!
