Media Technology for Albania

We are a team of media professionals who are traveling to a small country in Europe called Albania for a unique missions trip. Albania borders Greece and is just across the Adriatic Sea from Italy's boot.

Albania's population is just under 3 million people and it's a former communist country. During the communist rule, many religious freedoms were taken away from Christians and the church became very de-centralized.

In other words most people don't actually go to a church, instead most would simply meet in homes or do nothing at all.

Albania is not a wealthy country by any means but everyone has a smartphone or tablet. Everyone also has access to the internet and although there are evangelistic videos produced, most are not effective at reaching people because they are not in their native language.

Our mission going into Albania is to host a media camp for young people and leaders of other organizations to help train them to produce their own content that is relevant and high quality.

For creating this content, our goal is to use simple and readily available tools like iPads and smartphones.

The camp will include training on the art of storytelling, filming, editing, social sharing and blogging. We believe these things will help the Albanian Christians have a voice in the country again.

We are covering our costs to get to Albania, but we need your help to make the camp happen. Your contributions will help provide the technology ("media kits") that we'll be leaving there.
