Victoria's Final Medical Expenses

At about 5am Thursday morning, Victoria's heart stopped. I was awake watching movies, laying next to her, so I noticed that she had stopped breathing. Chest compressions and just a couple of minutes later, the EMTs, fire department, and sheriff's department arrived to take over. They did their best at the apartment, but she was immediately transported to Baton Rouge General's Emergency unit. They got her heart beating on its own once they got here, but her brain had not received oxygen for between 20 to 30 minutes. She is also dealing with other significant organ injuries. Suffice to say, the doctors don't know how quickly, or when her brain function will return. We spent four days in the ICU. Unfortunately, her brain function only lessened. While she had been doing more than the machines, eventually they were doing all the work. On Monday morning, our anniversary, the doctor sat me down to let me know that all we were doing was prolonging the inevitable. Right before 5:30 pm, surrounded by her close family and friends, we allowed them to remove the machines so she could look like herself again. She took three breathes on her own and left us for a better place. A place with no anxiety, no worries, no pain, and all the friends and family that left before her. We're working on her final arrangements, which will be covered. Unfortunately, we are also faced with her medical expenses. Even worse, we do not have medical insurance. An ambulance ride, four days in the ICU, an amount of tests that I cannot begin to count, units upon units if blood, and so much more all have to be paid for. I'm not asking for our friends and family to support me. I'm simply asking our friends and family help me begin paying what will be an incredibly huge bill. Anything will help, and everything will be appreciated. Thank you all so very much.
