Dear Friends!
While vacationing in Nicaragua for last 2 winters we were lucky to be hosted by the Norori family.
They are multi generational family residing in Granada. Hard working, family and education-oriented people. Almost all of them used to earn their money from tourism. The seniors Blanca and Alfredo used to accommodate students coming to Casa Xalteva to study Spanish( including myself).
Maria Amanda and her husband used to work for this charitable organization, Patrizia for a major hotel. The youngest daughter started medical school. Grand kids were growing. Times were good.
Then the political/social disturbance came. Protests, people killed in the streets. Tourists STOPPED coming. For last 5 months they didn't host a single person . Their world has turned upside down.
They are proud people not accustomed to ask for help, but the situation didn't get any better and they found themselves in dire straights.
They want to open a butcher shop. Unfortunately they don't have enough money to buy the equipment needed (freezers etc.). Knowing how hard they can work, I strongly believe, that with our help they will succeed.
Everyone knows, that supporting good causes makes you feel better. On my account, I offer each and every donor a huuuge discount at the next Nica-Polo Fiesta!
