McFaddin Hurricane Relief Fund

McFaddin, Texas is the small town where I live. We have a rich history here, and though we are not an affluent town, our residents have a strong community built on a sense of supporting each other.

Ranching communities have a deep understanding of tragedy.  We know loss and how to bounce back from it, and that is a point of pride for McFaddin and communities like ours. When Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Rockport and travelled north, the worst of the storm was directly over our little town. We sheltered each other during the storms and flooding. Unfortunately, the damage McFaddin sustained from Hurricane Harvey is more than we can recover from on our own.  We need help. 

We started the Marianna-McFaddin Preservation Foundation three years ago with the hope of restoring this old-style ranching town and honoring the history of those that came before.  We raised money and restored two of the historically significant buildings that symbolize our past and present: the post office and the church.  A year after renovating the church and celebrating its 100 year anniversary, Hurricane Harvey severely damaged the structure.

This campaign is about restoring and preserving a building that not only carries the designation of historical significance given by the state of Texas, but also serves as the community center for a small town who depends on it for cultural consistency and community cohesion.

 All donations to the nonprofit 501(c) (3) Marianna-McFaddin Preservation Foundation will go directly to the church and the reconstruction project that is already underway.
