Our brother Bob Garcia discovered a lump on his neck June 2017. After the biopsy he was diagnosed with ‘Lymphoma, Diffuse Large B Cell Non-Hodgkin’s and Follicular Large Cell’. Yes, the dreaded word CANCER, 2 types.
Bob and his wife Nancy thought they could handle on their own, they didn’t want to disrupt their friends and families lives; only those in the immediate family knew of his treatments and battles Bob has had to deal with since his diagnosis.
His initial Chemotherapy treatments have been intense, leaving him fatigued, unable to do his favorite projects & work on his pride & joy, their home. He has really soldiered through with unbelievable grace and strength. But the next round of treatments are going to take them to another level and the emotional, physical as well as unpredictable large financial expenses will require our help.
Fortunately, he’s been approved by Kaiser for a Bone Marrow/Stem Cell Transplant (autologous) at the City of Hope in Los Angeles that require many day trips to meet with Doctors, several week-long stays at the City of Hope Village and then he’ll be admitted for 4 weeks to City of Hope Hospital. All of which is only partially covered by their Insurance.
Each Hospital stay is $250 a night conservative estimates $4000.0 +
Every out-patient biopsy is $250, initial expenses have been $1000.00 +
Pre-chemo Dental work - $2000.00
Gas to and from LA will run: $200-300.00
Each stay the Hospital Village ~$500.00 a week
Upcoming Lab work conservative estimates 1000.00 +
and expenses we haven't even imagined yet
Needless to say, it’s adding up faster than they anticipated:The next round is impossible to budget. We would like to ease their worries and burden and concentrate on getting Bobby well.. Your good thoughts and prayers are appreciated. Let's help him #KickCancer
