Hurricane Harvey has left thousands of animals stranded, lost, displaced, injured, and scared. This heart rending situation calls to all of us, but especially to those of us in animal welfare around the country and the world. This Friday I will be joining hundreds of other veterinary professionals and animal rescuers in journeying to Texas to volunteer my skills, strength, and passion.
As a veterinary team member from Chatsworth, CA with over 10 years of experience, I will put my skills to use in the medical care of the affected pets. I will be spending five days in Texas helping to care for rescued pets and reunite them with the families who love them. Donations will go exclusively towards the purchase of medical supplies, food and transportation and any additional support for the affected animals. Pictures of the rescue efforts will be posted.
