Max vs Cancer, Round 2

I’ve been delaying this update because it’s not update I wanted to write. In case you haven’t seen the news on Facebook, Max’s tumor recurred at the back of his neck in March. He woke up in pain, and it got worse. He had a resection that got most of the tumor, but not all of it. And they found more, smaller tumors in his spine and one near the brain stem. He has recovered from surgery very well, and he is halfway through proton treatment in Seattle. This is a more intense treatment that I’m not really ready to talk about. But he is doing it without anesthesia again, and is by far the happiest person at the Seattle Proton Center. Maybe in all of Seattle. I recently found out about some studies that have shown high doses of CBD and THC have had very good effects on gliomas like Ependymoma, which is what Max has, and we are trying to make up for lost time by starting Max on treatments. They are quite pricey, but some people have had successes that look like miracles, which means they shrank the tumors, stopped them from growing or got rid of them completely. So we are willing to try. Many of our friends and family have asked how to help, and many have already helped so much. If you want to help but don’t know what to do, contributing towards our expenses means helping us with travel, accommodation, insurance, toys, food, medicines, and really anything that we spend during all of this.
