Stitching Maverick Back Together

After years of asking you to chip in for foster dogs in need, "pet" causes of mine, and political campaigns, I'm humbly asking for folks to chip in and help me pay to put my Maverick back together again.  Well, I'm asking because people told me I should do this.  If you feel like chipping in, I won't stop you.  I feel really awkward doing this, and a bit ashamed, but here it all is.

Maverick came to live with me the day before my dad died in 2004.  He was about six months old then, and we've been through a lot together since then. Some days, he was the only reason I'd get out of bed in the early days.  He put up with little sister Charlee, and me being in law school, and then little sister Goose, who we sadly lost less than a month ago.

I brought sweet Johnny and June into the family recently, and I thought we were going to be oh so happy together. Sadly, the dogs have had irreconcilable diferrences, and many of those differences were about how much Maverick needed his neck.  He's been roughed up pretty bad, and has spent most of the past week at the vet.  I am still working out what Johnny and June's forever home will look like, and I'll let you know when I figure that out. I'll spare you the more gruesome pictures of Maverick's wounds, and just give you the gruesome financial details: so far, I've paid about $2,500, and there is at least one more surgery to go.  He's covered in stitches and staples and Frankenstein-like drains, he's got an IV line in, and you don't want to know what else.



Like for lots of folks, money is tight for me. I have a new business that's growing but not bringing in tons of cash, and I just had an unexpected home repair that drained my emergency fund.  I am expecting about another $2,500 in costs for getting Maverick all patched up again.  Anything anyone would like to contribute would be so appreciated, and Maverick would love to thank you by letting you scratch his face.
